Image: Malala Yousafzai, the education rights campaigner from Pakistan, speaking at the “Malala Day” UN Youth Assembly. The event, which took place on Miss Yousafzai's sixteenth birthday, brought together hundreds of students from over 80 countries to call for quality education for every girl and boy in the world. The Assembly was also addressed by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon; General Assembly President Vuk Jeremić; and UN Special Envoy for Global Education Gordon Brown.
